What to pack for a week trip for Florida? Well, that entirely depends on which part of Florida you’re going to. If you’re going to Miami or Palm Beach, individuals get dressed up in these places at night, and during the day they’re wearing dress-up casual outfits – that’s the Florida casual dress code.
If you’re going to Disney World, Orlando is a bit more casual. However, all of these places can get into the 60s and sometimes 50s at night. So, it’s best to pack accordingly in layers when you’re planning a trip to Florida in winter, especially if it’s in January.
So what to pack for a week trip for Florida in winter – Miami or Palm Beach?
First, think about the activities that you’re going to do and then pack accordingly. If during the day you will be going to the beach, going out for lunch with friends, and going out at night for dinner, we recommend the following:
- Pack 3 swimsuits
- Pack 7 sundresses which ideally can take you from day to night
- Pack two or three sandals that coordinate in color
- Pack one pair of booties that mixes and matches with every dress
- Pack two or three jackets/blazers to wear on top of these dresses if it gets cold at night
- Including a leather jacket, jean jacket, and coatigan
Winter White is Trending in 2021 – 2022. She’s wearing a coatigan with Gucci sandals in Miami in December. She also owns the Gucci Jackie O bag in winter white to match her shoes, which she should have worn with her outfit for a polished look.
If you’re not a sundress type of person and into minimalist packing for Florida, then:
- Pack two to three blazers or a coatigan
- Seven tops
- Three pairs of jeans (one in white, light blue, and dark blue)
- Pack two t-shirts and two pairs of shorts
- Pack two or three sandals that coordinate in color
- Pack one pair of boots and/or booties
Pack one pair of sneakers in a neutral color that will mix and match with everything for either the sundress looks or the tops with jeans/shorts looks.
If you’re into fashion you can wear boots with shorts. That’s a very Miami look. Historically women used to wear high boots with shorts. But now you can wear ankle boots or combat boots with shorts – you know the chunky ones that are trending this season.
Then pack outfits that you’re going to wear out to dinner in Miami or Palm Beach. To keep it simple that’s usually a fitted dress and high heels or high heel boots. Or it can be a fashionable top, jeans, and heels. If it gets cold, wear one of your blazers/ leather jacket/ jean jacket/ coatigan that you packed on top of these dresses. Wear both outfits with a small crossbody bag or clutch.

The Retrofete denim jacket goes well with most of these casual dresses that don’t have puff sleeves. Pair it with the cotton citizen tank dress, the MSGM dress, the black Vince dress, and even the RTA dress for a nighttime look.
All the looks that are featured here from the Retrofete denim jacket to the Pinko white sequin dress are best worn if you’re in Miami. Mix and match these dresses with the black shoes and black bags that are featured on this page.
The Rebecca Minkoff dress, the Norma Kamali gold dress, and the RTA black patent dress can all be worn with the Saint Laurent sandals or with the Souliers Martinez black patent boots. Wear the white sequin Pinko dress, or any of the dresses to be worn at night, along with the Saint Laurent sandals and black bag to make a statement look.
If you’re spending time in Palm Beach, we would recommend wearing the Retrofete denim puff sleeve jacket along with these floral dresses that are not so full in the sleeve. Or you can also pair these floral and more classic-looking dresses with the Anne Kline coatigan.
As winter white is trending this season we recommend wearing the winter white Gucci Jackie O bag along with the winter white Gucci sandals in Florida with any of these floral or classic style dresses. We’ve also selected several other sandals by Valentino if you want to switch brands and change up the look. For a more on-trend look or to mix up your look a little bit more, you can wear winter white booties or white ankle boots with these dresses if it gets colder at night. Pair these dresses with any of the Gucci bags in winter white featured on this page along with the white boots for a pulled-together, urban chic look.
