If you’re from the United States or anywhere else in the world, the best place to buy luxury brands is in Europe. It’s best to buy luxury brands in Milan, Paris or London because you get the tax back which usually equates to anywhere from 11 to 15% depending on which country you purchase the goods from.

We love going to Millan for Italian or even French luxury brands and typically we start at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, then head to the fashion quarter known as Quadrilatero Della Moda where we go down several streets, such as Via Montenapoleone, Via Della Spiga, and Via Sant’ Andrea, to find these luxury brand stores.

Just be careful when you’re shopping in Milan as there’s a high likelihood that you’ll get pickpocketed or robbed. Hang on to your handbag. Don’t put it down on any chairs especially while you’re trying on shoes. And don’t just assume that because you’re in a high-end luxury store with security, they’ll be able to protect you from a thief.

Apart from shopping in central Milan next to the Piazza del Duomo like at La Rinascente, we recommend checking out Porta Nuova and Corso Como. The street offers more of an eclectic variety of brands and boutiques for the person who doesn’t like the mainstream high-end brands such as Louis Vuitton, YSL, Gucci, Chanel, and Dior. Or you can check out Via Madonnina in Brera which is close to Duomo. For high street shopping check out Corso Buenos Aires and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
